Practicing Macrophotography

Whoops. Meant to post this a long time ago. Started the draft and then never got around to finishing it or IDing any of the species. For now, enjoy the pretty pictures. :)

A very tiny jumping spider (seriously, only a few millimeters):

A very pretty damselfly.

Damselfly nymph, perhaps?

I AM ANT, HEAR ME RAWR!!

Ant without the flash diffuser.

Ants with the flash diffuser.

You tryin' to take a picture of me?

Another ant.

Hey, look, an ant!

Did someone mention ants?

Some species of ladybird beetle.

Again with the ladybird.

Oh hai!

So, yeah, nothing about the biology of these things at the moment. Just the pictures. Enjoy.

I welcome comments and feedback, but I must ask that you please keep it civil, keep it on topic, and for debate and criticism, keep it scientific. There are plenty of places on the internet to go to have Yet Another Creationism vs. Evolution Flame War™, so if your responses are based solely on religious faith, please take them somewhere else, because they contribute nothing to scientific discussion. About keeping civil, please try to frame your responses as if you were discussing this stuff face to face. :)

Also, the usual NO SPAM, no porn, no direct posting of grotesque content, etc. If you feel that something of such content is on topic for a post, please link to it, and mark your link as Not Safe For Work/Lunch/etc. ;) Thanks in advance for your cooperation. :)
